Buying a new Mac laptop - best way to discount price???

Anyone any advice on buying a new macbook pro cheaply? Seems to be great student discount plus money off iTouch...I'm not a student but do know one or two....

If you were to get a student to buy you one (not that I'd do that...) how would that work then?

Otherwise where's the best place to get a discount? Quidco %? Best online price for a new macbook pro 13 inch 2.26ghz base unit I have found is Amazon for £828....(full apple shop price is £899 - although they'll give a bit of a discount to bring it down to £845 when nudged).

Yes but I'm not a student....isn't it going to ask me for an NUS card number or where I'm a student at some point? Otherwise everyone would be doing this!

Just get one of your mates to go in the apple store for you with their nus card and they will sell them what you want at student prices

I've only got a reseller locally and they can't do the iTouch deal. So I'd have to go online or via telephone to apple store. Just need to make sure they'd be happy using my payment card and my home address for delivery and are happy for me to phone for tele support in the future....

Is there a starting age for getting the discount deal? 15-16 years OK? or is it 16 or 18 plus only?

They won't allow that, they will only sell to the actual student. You can get further education discount (which is carp) for people staying on to do a levels etc. or higher eduction if you have an nus card, this is the best discount I have ever come across for apple products. I do not know of any discounts for children still at school.

Only other way I can think that they may let you do it is if you access the higher education site from a computer on a uni campus.
