Buying a puppy HELL.... ***UPDATE** - NOW HAVE ONE THANKS TO YOU GUYS!! Pics @ bottom of page 2

    Hey people,

We are in the market for a puppy, now either a Siberian Husky, or a German Shepherd.

Now there are MANY sites that allow people to advertise pets, now i have spent the past few weeks looking yet all i keep getting are responses like these!!

    -------------------

" Thanks for your interest in homing one of these my puppies, i have just two males and one female available to any family prepared to provide them
with enough care and love. they are 15weeks old . house broken. and
have very good temperament with kids and other pets, loves
to play around with kids, toys and other pet, hand raised, house
trained and well vaccinated.they are called max and Cindy , and are indoors and outdoors
trained, they will will be coming with all their health papers and vet
records,kc register papers and a life time insurance and health papers including some playing toys.so am giving out this my puppies for just to lovely and caring families.and this is because i just lost my wife here in Belfast Ireland a few months ago and she was the one taking care of these puppies back at home and since she is no more,i have decided to give them out because seeing them makes me thing of her and also they are very lonely now because am very busy at home and there is no one to take care of them.
The puppies are here with me in Belfast Ireland.so if you can come and pick
them up from my home that will be fine by me but if you can not come over, there is still no problem because i Can arrange for the puppies to be delivered over to your
home tomorrow morning and this will cost you just £180 for the change
of ownership papers and delivery of each puppy and £360 for both.so if you are interested in having one or both just let me know by emailing back with your full
delivery details so that i can arrange all the delivery papers for the
puppies to be deliver over to your home tomorrow morning.
you are making the payment upfront that is before delivery for the
activation of puppy/puppies flight ticket ,delivery card and proper tracking of delivery.

Personally Im fed up of looking now,..

Has anyone got any ideas of good places to look, because it seems scammers are rife where it comes to this.. Unless this is how you actually have to do it nowadays??? (OMG)

Im prepared to pay the going rates but as per usual its only natural to look at the cheaper options, so after the first week of looking and getting the same format emails from many different people, i decided to up my price range by double (1000), yet still have been receiving the same pathetic replies to my enquiries.

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

You need to find a local (or not so local) breeder that you can visit yourself and check out. Your local vet may have a list of certified ones. Good luck, and well done for not getting scammed!

second look at your local dogs home etc

How are you finding the puppies? When looking for our cocker we went through KC registered breeders and the cockers owner's club, no problem with scam sellers.

LOL at how inept these scammers are they claim to have 3 dogs but only 2 have names?

And whats with the super low prices? You would think they would aim nearer but just below the true prices these pups fetch!

Does this need to be a 'puppy' and do you have any experience with Huskies ??

yes and yes, but not personally, my friend owns one and i have a good idea on what they are like and need.

    Get one from a dogs home if you can, why not help an animal that has probably had a poor life and may spend the rest of its lift without owners loving it;

While we are all bargain hunters on here, buying a puppy is almost always 'you get what you pay for' when it comes to buying a quality puppy. As suggested, go through the breed club of the type you want. Good luck

got my husky from the local rescue

This is what we are looking for ourselves, something smallish but not a toy breed possibly staffy x or similar, not something where you are afraid of sitting on it and squishing it, and definitely no ankle biters.

Its easier said than done though as even x breeds are £150-250, what happened to the daysof mongrels being free to good home?

The problem of a rescue giving out dogs for 'free' is that any "tom dick or Harry" would walk in take a dog and a couple of days later give it back or kick it onto the street ...
Also £150 is not much for a dog that will require a lot more to feed and sort vet bills ....

buying a puppy is nothing like you get what you pay fora lot of dog … buying a puppy is nothing like you get what you pay fora lot of dog breeds have been changed beyond recognition compared to what they looked like a 100 years ago because people wanted a certain look or feature and the dogs are a lot unhealthier for itYou'll most likely have years of problem free ownership if you get a cheap mongrel

If puppys are offered for sale at much lower price than normal, it is likely they have come from a puppy farm (of which I'm afraid there are hundreds) The bitches are often forced to have litters every year, resulting in puppies in poor health.

How about preloved? Or huskiesinneed.webs.com (I can't get the page to open at the moment though!)
But that rescue is good with rehoming all across the UK

    omg, sorry, cant stand staffy's..

Far too many of em... and you need to be 16 and wearing a burberry hat, coat and trousers too when out walking em..

I agree, Husky's are extremely hard work, not easy to train and shed the most ridiculous amount of hair. In fact if you buy a Husky you might as well invest in a good Dyson too

Ooops just realised they are now based in France,

we went to see alot of dogs before buying our dal, just get in touch with as many as you can find and go visit them, always make sure you see mum with the pups, make sure shes looks healthy, and pups are healthy, dont just buy the first you see look around, and good breeders will ask you plenty of questions also, when mine had pups we had to make sure they understood how stubborn dals can be and there so full of energy, ask to see mum is up to date with injections, check mums papers, and they should have a copy of dads papers, good luck

When we were hunting for our mini schnauzer pup last summer we unwittingly ended up at a puppy farm outlet (for want of a better word). 15 pens each with 5-8 pups of. Particular breed in. I asked to see their mum but apparently they don't like to keep the pups with their mum as it makes them harder to house train (if they are going to li at least they could come up with a good on ffs). I cm out feeling physically sick and as a grown man it s probably the closest I have ever been o tears. We decided at that point price was no longer an issue, neither was distance and ended up paying possibly over the odds but ended up with a fantastic pup from a loving family who owned both mm and dad. The lady who bred our pup let us play with all the pups for an hour or so before we picked one. I think you'll know when you find the right breeder as something just feels right.

10 and a bit weeks old, cost me £500, mum and dad were there, lovely lady seller, few other pups there, but i fell in love with her and had to have her.
