buying flights on usa website?

wondering if anyone has ever bought a flight from a usa website instead of uk website and benefited due to exchange rate

my flight is £400 and wondered if anyone knew a good usa site i could buy it from and if u are allowed to do this

I have asked this on mse before and didn't get to the bottom of it. I think that the residency comes into effect.

However, as we know people who live in USA, we wanted to know if they could book return flights from UK to Florida to take advantage of the £ v's $ rate.

There are some you can use and some you can't - expedia don't let you (although checking on their website, flights worked out 5p cheaper!!), whereas some sites like orbitz.com do. Incidentally the cheapest I can find at the minute for my flight in November is [url]www.usairways.com[/url] (which lets you book whether you're in the States or UK), works out about £40 cheaper than the same flight on lastminute, opodo etc. Use RR312CH to get 5% off ;o)

Is this taking into account the high rate of the pound against the dollar?
