camelcamelcamel lightning deals not registered?

Just bought some earrings in a lightning deal for £20. Wife fancies some for herself but they're back at full price £75. So thought I'd set up an alert on 3 camels to catch the next lightning deal or price reduction. However 3 camels are showing the lowest price for the earrings @£60 with no record of the lightning price.

2 issues
1) Can't believe 3 camels price is truly the lowest (in this case I would have thought 60 not 20 was the lowest)
2) The alerts wont register if it does go into a lightning deal again.

Can anyone recommend an alternative / more reliable method?

who are you buying earrings for if it's not your wife?!
i'v noticed this aswel, there might be a better way but I usually have a scroll through the deals most morning and set to watch items I'm interested in then I'm notified when deals are about to start.

Haha she bought them for her sister. I'm not stupid enough to use our shared Amazon a/c to purchase jewellery for the mistress.... Anyway have enough earache from the Mrs and 2 daughters to want another woman in my life. (_;)

Set the web page of the earrings you’re after from Amazon as your home page, or set it to open as an additional tab for every time you open your home page. Once the price hits your desired price, snap them up. I was watching a pair of thermals from Wiggle and managed to get them half price in July by doing it this way.

Click settings - Internet options - General - copy & paste the Amazon web page into the home page box, or enter it under the home page url in the same box to create a tab.

There's also Zeezaw which is similar to CamelCamelCamel, and Curia.com which compares prices in all of Amazon's European stores. And priceonline.eu which is similar to Curia. On priceonline make sure to tick all the boxes under the search box, you should hopefully get more results.

Anyway, whatever you decide, good luck.

No way I'm setting that as mine or her homepage... It'll wind me up or it'll make her buy them at full price. Either way lose lose for me.
Thanks for the idea though it's a good shout, and I'll take a look at those additional links.

Just discovered myself that 3camels doesn't see lightening deals - had set up an alert on an item I wanted, and wasn't notified. As it happens, I did still find out - the item was in my wish list, and the Amazon app notifies you if an item in there goes on offer.

yes, you are right it doesn't. when I asked on here about a year ago I got weirdos telling me how amazon had to make living !

my biggest concern was I often trust camels price shows you whether the price has been less in the past and therefore likely to be again at some point. It may well be discounted 20-30% in lightning deals but you'd assume from camel that it never gets reduced.
