nikon , canon , sigma have all increased their prices again . Buy old stock now as it will save some dosh. Good example is a nikon d3 which will be more than £500 more expensive when the new stock is in compared to December.

google nikon d3, see a google ad for parkcameras £2570, click the link, same camera is now £2999 and that will be old stock, subject to another price increase

I have been looking for a Nikon zoom lens for a while. In Park Cameras the Nikon 70-300mm was £299 in December, so thinking it might be cheaper in the January sales I waited, only to find it was £339 in early Jan. It is now £399, an increase of a third on the December price. Yes many photographic items are going up, I have now bought a Sigma lens, before that went up.

That's crazy never would have thought a increase would be so much good spot.

Ever wonder/been surprised about sale prices / validity of reductions ? - To meet consumer legislation, goods must have been on sale at the HIGHER price for a requisite period within the last six months- (6weeks I think). With these hikes , a seller can make alater sale price look much more attractive!!

It's nothing to do with making later sale prices looking better, it's due to the weakness of the sterling at the moment.

That's fine if we're talling about NEW stock. - Currency fluctuations have no bearing on old stock!

We are talking about new stock, this is nothing to do with looking good in a sale later.

Guys... im struggling to find a nikon 50mm 1.4D lens... even on ebay... Help!

Looking to get a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens, was £63 just after Christmas delivered. Now its £78.99 :-(

If you haven't seen it before www.camerapricebuster.co.uk is a good site for tracking DSLR camera and lens prices. The majority of items show a drop in price over the last year rapidly changing to an increase 2/3 months ago.

I've just ordered the lens 50mm 1.4D through jessops mail order... with 5 % discount... but its special order.... anyone know how long this takes? any has anyone experienced this?
