Camping... Anyone been / Recommend a couple of options for weekend, mini-break

Found 27th Jul 2009
Living in North East, thought we might venture south a little, somewhere around East/South Yorkshire, or even as far as Cheshire? (But open to suggestions anywhere)

Only thing is it needs to be suitable for a little one, with plenty to do, nice site with facilities, and if possible a nice theme park near by. Not interested in a theme park with on-site camping.. just looking for something different, but with the option of taking the little one if we want

the amsterdam mini cruise is only £47 per person, we took child when she was 2, she loved the ship, we went to Sweden, they had lots of play areas and she had a great time, she also came home with mthe pillow she had on the ship because there was no way she was leaving without 'her' pillow, we still have it and that was 24 years ago

Thorpe park cleethorpes (haven)is a good place to go camping you can pitch a tent there, you have pleasure island right next door and great clubs for the kids and the swimming pool is great.

Why not go to Blue Dolphin (Filey) and then you have Liughtwater valley and flamingo land not too far away.
