    Camping...Hard Standing??? What is it???

    Hi

Can you please help am going camping tomorrow or ment to be...and am still looking at campsites. I have seen one on the Haven Website Skipsea Sands and want to know what hard standing pitch is with electric...says its for tents not caravans..and even asked on the phone.

My question how do you pitch a tent on concrete?...Sorry am a first time novice camper and havent got a clue.

    Thanks

ermmm my answer to this is i do not no usually these are for cavarvans also if u get one with electric u need a electric hook up x

    Customer advice:
Hardstandings and continental pitches are often extremely compacted and hard, we would suggest therefore that you choose the 20cm / 8” ScrewPeg for this type of work**.
The surface of a ‘hardstanding’ pitch, is composed of aggregate and is loose and providing poor, initial hold. On some pitches, it is not until you have reached a depth of 3cms or 4cms that a peg starts to get real grip and hold in the ground. We offer the longer ScrewPeg for these types of conditions providing extra security with the greater depth.

Looks liek normal pegs may not be sufficient.

I assume it just means concrete base for camper-vans/caverns. Why not select a different pitch?

skipsea sands isn't near blackpool ? its on the east coast.

if the east coast is somewhere you would think of going, the haven site at cleethorpes (thorpe park) is a nice one for camping, the pitches are close to the beach and clean toilets and showers.

alternatively i could recommend a fantastic camping site in woolacombe ? or a cheap but still nice one in wales

    No1 likes a camper.

If you do decide to camp, use claymores with resupply of scavenger perk.
