Hi. A little while ago I unlocked an HTC phone so that I could try it out with a 3 SIM card - wanted to test it out with a PAYG SIM to check the signal was decent in my area. When the SIM arrived, I immediately noticed that it looked different to the one that I previously had in there. Never thought anymore of it and eventually signed up with Orange. Well, the other day, I dug out this same HTC phone again and realised how much I had missed it! It enabled me to connect wirelessly with my home network which meant I could check my emails without switching on my laptop. I had an idea that I could take my SIM from my existing phone and swap it into my HTC phone. To my horror, the SIM that I removed from my LG Pop (GD510) had 3G written on it and just as I was about to put it into my HTC phone, I turned it over and noticed that it was different from the one that was already in there - it look just like the one I had received from 3, months earlier. I know that there is a new mini-SIM that has just been introduced into the new iphone 4, but I wondered if someone could explain to me what the difference is between SIM cards. I tried to search Google for some answers but had little joy. I've also been told that you can cut down a SIM to fit inside the new iphone 4 - has anyone tried it to do and is it only possible with certain SIM cards? Thanks a bundle.
