Can anyone give me some ideas for confidence building games?

Ok, I have been offered an interview for a job and the interview will basically be 20 min confidence building microteach. I have been told not to just lecture, but to think outside of the box and ensure I engage the people in the class.

I don't really know lots about confidence building, but have been told this isn't a problem, just to ensure I am lively and engage the audience. So, has anyone got any ideas for techniques or games that can be used for adults?

Many thanks for any ideas.

I should just add, the people I will be teaching will be long term unemployed and would be teaching them confidence building, interview techniques etc.

Knowing my luck someone would be dropped and I'd be in trouble!!

lol

A quick google gave me this:

usscouts.org/uss…asp

It's for scouts, but I'd say it could be used in your situation!

(Not all are appropriate on second reading, but do some googling and have a look)

here is one I found on the net that goes down well. we use for ice breakers.

If you love me baby just smile?
The group sits in a circle. The first person turns to the person on their right and says "Hi Baby, if you love me baby just smile." The person must reply without similing or laughing "Hi baby, I love you baby, but I just can't smile." That person, if they say it correctly without smiling then turns to the person on their right & repeats the question. Each time someone smiles or laughs they are elimated until there are only two people left who are then declared the winners.

You can change the words so they are more fitting to the group.

I did check those out, I have been googling for 2 days, lol. I just can't seem to find something that fits, so thought I would ask the lovely peeps here.

Who dreams up these ridiculous "games"

I'm sure unemployed people will really appreciate playing them, not:roll:

An excellent way to build a person's confidence is to get them to talk in front of other people, this way you can see who you need to work with more.
The best way to do this is to get them to talk about something they have a passion for, it could be anything from going camping to their favourite 360 game. The point is, is to get them talking and expressing themselves, this is the first port of call for any confidence building exercise.
The most important thing is that YOU do it first to the group and make it light hearted and funny, this will make them feel much more relaxed and they will find it easier to speak.
Lead by example

I hope this helps. I have used it many times in my training classes

Alrighty, my bad sorry Hope you think of something special

did a few strange ones when i went for my last job with part of the virgin group i think they are quite big on the sort of team build confidence building games. They did one where you put a post it note on each others foreheads with a famous persons name on it & you then have so many questions to guess who you are (gets people giggling when everyone knows who you are except you ) and other one was 9 cardboard boxes wrapped up in paper 3 red 3 blue 3 yellow one person is blind folded and the other person has to give directions so the blindfolded person builds a wall with the right colours in the right places.
