Can anyone recommend a divorce solicitor in Glasgow?

The title pretty pretty much says it all.

Also do you know how much they charge per hour - although I guess if I stop working I can get legal aid.

Any suggestions of who to go for or who to avoid?

I should add its ending a non married relationship - but with a fair amount of assets. The relationship has been running long enough and there are sufficient ties that its just not a "walk away" scenario.

Hope you get it sorted mate

Why bother with an expensive divorce lawyer? Grab an axe and sort the problem out yourself, like in times of old.

P.s. Only joking, hope the whole thing gets sorted without too much pain.

Stay away from big boys like Morton Fraser - will charge you a load for basic advice.

Somewhere I'd recommend is a place like Kilcoyne Solicitors in Govanhill, southside of Glasgow. Family Law specialists, dealt with my aunt's divorce and I also spent some time in there doing work experience. You should be able to negotiate a decent price but I'm unsure on how much they charge per hour. Initial consultation is free and they'd probably be able to set down the prices and everything then.

If you wouldn't mind sharing some more information through PM, I can provide you with some more clarification on the law. Cohabiting couples rights on separation are a pain in the ar$e though :-/.

Oh thats such a shame. Is there anyway it can be done amicably (sp). Or mediation to sort out who gets what. Its just its gonna cost sooooo much going through the solicitor. Its like burning money init!

Gotta agree with this. If you can use a mediation service its so much better.
Imo Solicitors aren't concerned about what's best for you (both) and are just in it to get as much money for themselves, I reckon they deliberately cause problems between both parties just to string the whole thing out for longer.
