Can anyone recommend a weights bench?

Hi,

I would buy one off Amazon but there are so many fake reviews, it's difficult to work out which is best.

I'm willing to spend about £70 for one.

Any suggestions? Many thanks!

PS. @magicjay1986 - any chance of adding a tag of "Weight Training" to the "Fitness & Running" group/category selection?

The first one but interesting to see how the others compare. The Bodymax one looks much better quality than many of the ones on Amazon.

I'm thinking about buying a powercage eventually, that combined with a bench seems a better option than the second one you posted.

Yes, I agree.

I would suggest looking at the Fitness Superstore & Powerhouse Fitness sites for bundle deals of benches & cages, or what other options are available. If you buy, say, a Bodymax bench, you can see which cages are made to support the dimensions of the bench so you know what to expect to pay later...

hubby got this one, which seems sturdy enough and is quite cheap. it folds neatly so can be easily transported around in the car as he insists on bringing the damn thing with us on holiday!

"Maximum allowable weight: 100 kg (220.5 lb)"

That will be user weight, the weight of the bar, & any free weight on the bar.

I am not surprised some people in the review comments on the product page have suggested it is not very stable.

i think that means just the weights, as hubby is just over 70 kg and he has 50 kg on there and that is no where near the maximum that it can take.
