can I return faulty ps4 controller to Argos with no receipt

I know I can go through sony to replace to a controller but that takes up to 2 weeks... can I not just take it to argos and have them replace it... I don't have a receipt but what about a bank statement

    You could try but they don't have to do anything with no receipt. You will likely be turned away however in rare cases I've heard that they can make exceptions.

    I'd personally just replace with Sony if possible.

    hey I just found the receipt...does that change anything...I don't have the original games with it... and I don't want to swap out for a new ps4...just a new controller

    Again I think they would be making an exception to replace just the controller, although it would be much more convenient. As you have the receipt it may be worth a try, explain that you don't want the aggravation of replacing the whole console because you have important data on the device. No guarantee but you definitely have more chance now with the receipt.

    They would normally replace the whole console bundle but if the member of staff has a brain he will just swap your controller with a new one and stick it through as a free controller.

    Good idea, if they say yes be sure to get their name. I've had this before and then when I go into the store they said different and you look like a liar when you they ask who you spoke to and you say "I don't know" X)

    i think sony were replacing them because there was something wrong with them..... one of the trigger buttons had a fault i seem to recall

    I purchased a cabinet and the hinge went faulty after a month. Phoned Argos they said it would take up to two weeks to send one out in the post as not in stock. Instead of me waiting they informed me to just go to my local store and tell them to take hinge out of a perfectly good unit and give it to me. Without receipt and without having to take the whole unit back. Excellent customer service. I get most things from there.

    I had a problem with part of a wall bracket I bought from them and they did just replace the faulty part rather than me having to take the whole thing down, I think it just depends on how helpful the member of staff is you deal with at the time.

    why do they want the box I wonder, I wouldn't mind keeping the original box tbh

    Don't give them the box then, its yours not theirs. Take it with you, but tell them they are not keeping it.
