can i sell this in the for sale/trade section

My daughter has been breeding her stick insects(lamponius guerini) and has lots on incubated and fertilized eggs, she wished to sell them onto anyone who may wish to hatch them and enjoy the spices themselves , thing is im not sure if this is allowed on here ? i have seen someone selling kittens before.
please can someone advise so i don't make any error by listing them and getting told off.

    Thanks
    kat

You can sell/give away pets on here if you want to, just not on places like auction sites.

i thought there was a few ums and ahhs over wether animals should be selled here might be best to contact a mod to check!

not even sure weather eggs would be classified the same lol

I guess if she is breeding them for selling it could also be seen as a business venture which wouldnt be allowed

try putting this thread in the feedback forum

she isn't breeding them for selling purposes, they just breed anyway as they are insects, we are keeping quite a few but as they lay so many we would like to sell a few to just cover the upkeep of the ones she has currently got and provide additional housing for the future ones, my daughter is 10 yrs ols so not quite a business woman yet .

Dont know how much they go for ,but I'm just thinking they may be ideal for the local middle school . I work there , on hols at the moment and cannot ask the science teachers till the 3rd Nov. They often have butterflys , they have some fish at the moment . But ,I'd like more details anyway .

    hi ricko,
I went off to get my listing up and then thought oh lets do some piccys so halfway through all the writing and i got logged out and it all disappeared! grrr
anyway i will start again tomorrow afresh.

the species we have are lamponius guerini they are a very gentle type and dont run like mad they are fairly low maintenance as so ideal for children.

They like ventilation so any caging with fly screen outside is ideal or alternative is a fish tank on end with screen lid , They eat mostly bramble but also like ivy, rose, oak, pear and red maple.

My daughter is asking for £2.50 for 30 eggs which are per incubated and are fertilized as a male is present in the cage.
i will of course be putting all this in my daughters for sale listing so wont be trading through this post.
i will send you a link when i have done all the writing again !:whistling:

Many thanks , they sound ideal and well the price ...................is a steal . Would like some pics to show the school on Monday . Look forward to the link . cheers
