You could get like a HD PVR which I use to record over HDMI to my PC and then obviously click play on Sky and let it rattle through, save the file burn to DVD?

I tried researching a while ago to see if there was anyway to get files from the Sky Box or if the serial port/USB port/eSata port was of any use but no apparently. It'd be pretty ace if you could drop and drag recorded files.

Unless Sky 1 is FTA?

+Extract is freeware that rips FTA recordings from a Sky+ hard disk."

Recordings made from subscription channels are encrypted and only decrypted by the receiver (with a valid card) on playback - these must by copied by other means in realtime *such as a HD PVR*

So if Sky 1 is FTA which I don't think it is then you could get a caddy and pull out the HDD and dock it and then run the software and grab it?

It is like an expensive capture card http://www.amazon.co.uk/EasyCAP-Video-Audio-Capture-Card/dp/B0011N9QNC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1360103248&sr=1-1

Obviously not worth buying if you'll just use it for this one time thing.
However if you knew someone with one you could borrow it or you could record it in standard quality using the cheaper £10 item above connecting your Sky Box via a scart cable to it.

If you have a DVD recorder, you can connect that to your sky box, scart or the like. Then just play the programme on your sky+ box, whilst recording onto your DVD recorder. Just like you used to copy VHS tapes. I've done it before, works fine, its not HD quality though

Some camcorders allow you to record from other sources. If you or your friend have one see if it has an Av IN as well as Av OUT. You'd then plug that into the sky Scart socket and record.

On the back of the Sky box you'll have a scart out to TV you would plug this in http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41YLM83PxeL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Then attach cables from the Sky box to the small USB capture card.

Then on your laptop/computer open and record the input source (capture card)
It will capture audio/video then save the file and burn it to DVD.

when is it on again? i could record it onto my dvd recorder and send it in the post
save you buying a dvd recorder and trying to record from sky+ and all the hassle.
theres different recording modes on my recorder and 1hr gives out the best quality.
just giving back as in the past ive had people record stuff from Satellite tv for me
and sent the disc in the post..

need help just pm me cheers Bruce
