If so, how? Free if poss.

If not, will i-Player and other catch up services work abroad,or are they UK only?

iPlayer is UK only (and not live anyway.)

The only way round that is fake the IP address and use a UK one... (There are sites out there to assist with that - and software.)

bbc iplayer only works in the uk... i tried to use it in the usa and it detected it was a american isp and wouldnt let me

My brother lives in Brazil, and he can't access i-player.

There is a way around it, but he hasn't tried yet. I doubt you can watch "normal" television.

How about FreeSat? That would work?

Get a receiver for the pc, Something like a WinTV Nova S2 and a satellite dish pointed to Astra 28 east and bobs yours uncle. You'l even be able to get HDTV from BBC, ITV and hopefully Channel 4 Next year....

Also this way you can get a dual/quad LNB and have freesat on a TV in the lounge.

I have to travel abroad from hotel to hotel. Lugging a sat dish would not be practical....

I meant to say laptop in original post; perhaps using the term PC is confusing. I'll change to OP

A UK based web proxy may do the trick.

Depending on whereabouts in Europe it may need a dish up to 2.4 metres as well.:whistling:

Ahhh, ok.

I'm kinda stumped then. was going to suggest downloading torrents for the tv shows but you want it live.

Im sure you would be able to 'trick' I Player into allowing foreign viewers if you were to keep your locality to UK, including the time. Just depends on whether is checks your IP address.

Most hotels have SKY TV these days, OK probably at cost, but it may be the only way.
