I'd rule out the first one, 2GB of memory and 32GB of storage is too little for a general purpose machine days. The second out is over budget once you add VAT and import fees.

I'd go second hand, a 2000 or above series i3 with at least 4GB of memory. It's hard to give a specific model as it'll depend on what's available.
Laptop is best for uni, you don't want to lug around a desktop and monitor. At that low budget, best you'll probably get is a 2nd hand old generation i3. Ask around first, friends or family may have a spare laptop you could borrow/buy.

Hi thank you. I've been looking but then don't know whether I should be looking for celeron or what sort of processor. I looked on Gigarefurb. Good prices but not sure what to choose again. Could you recommend one off there at all please?

The Pentium/Celeron processors four digits, starting with G (for desktops) or ending with U or M (for laptops) are the newer ones, other than the Pentium G6000 models.

Looking on the Gigarefurb site they don't have any micro desktops, the Acer Veriton X seems like the smallest at 10x27x40:

Look for CPUs that are called intel i3. The new ones are i3-8xxx, before those came the i3-7xxx series, i3-6xxx before that and so on. Check out notebookcheck.net/Mob…tml for a laptop CPU hierarchy to get a better view of how they rank. Search ebay's laptop category for i3, as it's a good starting point.

From the gigarefurb site, I think the hp probook i5-2410M at £150 (https://www.gigarefurb.co.uk/hp-probook-6560b-intel-core-i5-2410m-2-30ghz-4gb-ddr3-memory-320gb-hdd-15-6-windows-10-refurbished-laptops.html) is by far the best deal there given your budget. The CPU is almost as powerful as a more modern i3. A real bargain.
Thank you bjrosl and EndlessWaves 😊. For helping without patronising. A+
