Have you considered going by coach instead?

Edit I assumed you meant by train lol

hitch hike

if u can get a mega bus it wont cost alot  but buses are horrific on long journeys like tht

Your looking at an £84 return on the train unfortunately,

Mega Bus - Leave leeds at 06.20, arrive London 10.20
Leave London at 19.00, arrive Leed 23.25 for £25.00

if it's still available, national express funfare coach £5 each way, but you have to go very early in the morning

Have considered that, but to get there for half 2 we would need to set off at half 5 in the morning....lol so looking for other options!

Yeah I keep getting about that price....and the national express coaches seem to be cheaper than the megabus! although they dont return so late...

wicked....just ran through a quote and that comes up as £34 for 2 passengers return...If I cant get any deals on the trains then this looks good

coaches are good, used to go london to cardiff a few times for 20 quid, only downer is if your late, and miss it, it's going to cost you and be a lot of hassle to get on another 1....

By rail £46.70 return leaving Leeds at 1005 change at Sheffield arrive St Pancras at 1334. Return from Kings Cross at 2030 change at Doncaster arrive Leeds at 2258. Can't see it for any less than that but at least it''s closer to the coach.

thats great....what site is it on? thinking I might need a slightly earlier train though as Im not sure where in london I need to get to...so leaving just an hour might be a bit rushed!

If you get the National Express, see if they have a stop at Golders Green, if you travel into London from there using the underground you can cut out at least an hour on the coach as it makes its way to the centre.

thanks...is golders green the furthest point? Do you know how much an underground day ticket would be from there? Thanks

It's not the furthest point, the one I got on at Sheffield went on to Victoria Station, but you save a whole bunch of time by getting off early and grabbing the underground asap to get anywhere. Can't remember the price tbh, but wasn't that bad otherwise I wouldn't have paid it! lol.

Any of the sites should do it. I tend to use Nationalexpresseastcoast.com, don't take the first set of results but click on slower routes and check the various boxes that appear. That will bring up the East Midlands Trains option for the southbound journey.
