    Can someone help me with my homework??

    its been bugging me for days and i really want to get my head round it.

    y = 5x cubed + 4 x + 13

    and

    y = 3ex - 5x -2

    and

    y = sin x + cos 2 x

    Does anyone know how this is done or know any sites that explains it? Cheers

    helpful post :thumbsup:

    To be honest I've forgotten how to do these and don't want to relearn it!

    i dont understand what you are trying to get from the equations?

    are you trying to find y, or differentiate, or what?

    If I remember my algebra,

    its you have to resolve x, but firstly you need to 'combine' 2 of the equations to the derivative of y and then carry out a simultaneous equation to solve x and y.

    That will only work for linear equations, not for these though.

    Yeah my algebra days are hazy, I hated dx/dy mostly.

    lol

    Yeah, without knowing what the equations are representing or what you're trying to do it's pretty hard to give you any help. Are the three equations even part of the same question?
