Can you paint MDF with white gloss?

As above, presumably as it isn't really wood you can't?

i think you just need a primer? or sand it so it has a key?
sure you can, a lot of architrave and skirtings are made from it these days, primer required

Done all my skirting boards in mdf, mainly coz it does curl like normal wood. As above with instructions... big emphasis on the sanding to key it.
Yes ,they brought out a special primer to allow you to paint on to kitchen doors ,worktops ,bedroom wardrobes many years ago . I think the original one was called ESP , there are now similar versions . I've used the original one to paint wardrobes , then finish in a Dulux woodsheen finish , looked OK too.
