Can you return a faulty Asus laptop without the receipt?

So i am looking to buy a new laptop and i have come across this listing of an Asus laptop on eBay.
However the seller said he has received the product as a gift and does not have the receipt or invoice.
It is in new condition but i always feel safer knowing i got some sort of warranty.
If worse comes to worse will the manufacturers warranty from Asus cover me if i don't have the receipt?

Well that's the thing it is a really sketchy listing. But i mean... how would you "steal" a laptop with all the sorts of security in stores these days.

You can rob people easier than stores so could be burgled or an insurance job

Not being a thief I don't but I can think of a few. Someone who worked for a retailer or deliver company, take it off someone who just left the store. Personally I wouldn't touch anything like this.

I think you are right i doubt i will be buying the laptop. And the seller only has 1 positive feedback as well as being a member of eBay since July this year.

With only 1 positive feedback Id be dubious of buying a £25 item let alone a laptop.

    Exactly^
I would read some eBay buying guides on how to be safe, clearly you are new to this. Good thing you posted this otherwise who knows what would of happened and how much money you would of lose. don't let yourself in that position.

yes u cold if u can prove when and where it was purchased such a as a credit card statement

Lot of people get unwanted gifts in this country with no receipts. After Christmas some rich kids 10 Ipads or iPhones when they can use only one. So it's too fast to assume it is stolen

If you check with some manufacturers you will find that they will not give you any warranty whatsoever if you have bought from eBay, doesn't matter how old or new the item is unless it is purchased from a business seller. I think I would be staying away from this one.
