Write a letter saying your currently of ill heath!!!

I wouldnt like to say this about yourself but its a way out of it
But what if I just would cancel Direct Debit?
if you cancle the dd they can persue you for the outstanding amount, probably go on your credit file to if it is a contract
I'm not sure you can get away with that...the minimum I expect is it to effect your credit rating in the future.

This is why people need to make sure they are going into something and really want it.
so,what can i do?dont really care about credit rating
you can try the ill health line, you'll be lucky to get anywhere, cancel the dd be prepared for the backlash of it
backlash?
it wont go on your credit file as they dont do a credit check on application, ill health thing wont work,as they require a medical cert, try explaining it to them, they will at last resort use a debt collection agency who will be annoying but pretty toothless

If you honestly don't care about your credit rating, then that's one avenue you can pursue but I'm sure you'll care about your credit in the near future.

I don't think that would work...don't these places normally require a doctors sick note to prove it?

I recommend checking out the Terms and Conditions to see if there's any loopholes or ways they accept you to get out of the contract, some place are re willing to wave the remainder providing you pay a get out of contract fee.

backlash?

you signed inot a contract, cancelling the dd may stop them taking money but t doesnt mean they have to leave it there
doctors note of ill health = ONLY way out , cancel the DD and it will just cause you hassle and still you will have to pay it in the end

but I'm sure you'll care about your credit in the near future.

maybe,you never know.

how they would persuade me?
is there any chance to reduce monthly payment then?
they can take you to court, you took out a contract it is up to you to keep the payments up as agreed, its no good asking us what they will do, contact them and discuss
Just a question but Why do these places make people sign these cast-iron contracts? Anyones circumstances can change esp at the moment.

because if they didnt, everyone would cancel when they had time to think about it, same with evrything
prob is if you cancel due to ill health normally the freeze the membership until your fit again and continue your contract
hit them with the line he uses on dragons den " £45 is too much for me to invest in your company, so for that im out"
just having a squint about looks like the OFT have got them to change some of the clauses in the membership contract ]http//ww…/1/
tell them you are moving away - make sure there are no gyms in the vicinity of the place you say you are moving too lol
There was a guy who lost his job and they wouldn't cancel his membership so he essentially moved in. He used to spend all day there using the facilities and would bring his laptop to use the free wi-fi and bring a packed lunch this saved him a fortune in power bills at home. He even ordered pizza to be delivered there. After 2 weeks they canceled his membership.
lol i would love to see someone move in

my bro in law pretty much ****ed up his knee and they still wouldnt let him cancel until he got a doctors certificate and even then they didnt exactly make it easy
