CANCELING ORDERS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SHIPPED FROM DISTRILBUTION CENTRE - ASOS

Hi

I ordered some items yesterday from ASOS using the standard delivery. Even thought the items have not bee shipped from their distribution centre they still will not cancel my order.

ASOS emailed me and told me the following. I'm afraid your order has already been processed and billed, so it is too late to cancel it now. Due to the speed of our dispatch service we are unable to cancel your order as it has now passed the stage of us being able to retrieve it from our distribution centre

Am i still within my right to cancel order.

If they are a UK company, you can return it under the Distance Selling Regulations, unless it's exempt.

You have 7 days from the day it arrives to do so.

just get the item and return under distance selling law

It is normal. Alot of companies cannot let you cancel after just a few hours from ordering.

What it is i have some bits in the order i don't want anymore. And you have to cancel the whole order. which means i have to pay for the order to be sent back.

I just wanted to cancel and reorder. If the order has not been shipped why can't it be stopped.
you can do this with Littlewoods catalogue - Shop on-line.

If you don't want the order, then it's only fair that you pay to return it.

The order has not been shipped yet!

All they have to do is telephone or go down to the shipping dept within the premises and stop the order
what's so hard about that!

Alot of companies don't let you cancel even if you call a couple of hours after ordering. Its not just ASOS. Once your order reach a certain status, they can't stop it. You can't really just predict how their logistics work. If ASOS is the only company that doesn't let you cancel, then you probably can make a fuss. Some companies that offer free shipping both ways would just ask you to return the items and make a new order. Wouldn't you think they would try to save their shipping cost if they could have stopped it instead?
