cancelled broadband and phone package.... 3 weeks later still working..

hi, i recently cancelled my contract with my provider after terrible billing issues but 3 weeks later all still working fine, i had to phone up to get some money owed to me and was told "there is no account that exists under that name", i have not received any communication about the contract apart from what was discussed over the phone, do i cancel the dd?

it's normally canceled 30 days after giving notice.

NO do not cancel the direct debit - find bills can be issued up to 45 days after a contract ends and cancelling dd will constitute a breech of that contract. If your account has been cancelled then you have no issues with any money being taken, as any error will be covered by the dd guarantee and you will have cause for recourse with your supplier. If you cancel the dd then you have none.
