Cancelling 3 Contract

Hi

I recieved a letter from three saturday morning saying they will be rounding up any calls 59 seconds or less to a minute. Would it be possible to cancel the contract, because of terms and conditions. I am on Mix and Match 300.

THanks

I would say so being a material change to original contract but best check with trading standards 1st

Yes, I would say so too.

How long ago did you sign up for the service? I'm on mix and match 1100 or something and started mine in March.

It was around January.

Ive had a look around on mse and found a few threads:

"
From 23rd September 2008, any calls lasting 60 seconds or less will be rounded up to a minute. After the first minute, you’ll get charged for the rest of the call per second. There’s no change for calls made before 23rd September 2008.
·This means your first bill after the change may include calls rounded up to one minute and some calls (made before 23rd September) that aren't.
·The usage summary on your bill will show the rounded up number of minutes for that month.
Our price plans remain extremely competitive and we offer a host of extras, including free calls to Skype users anywhere in the world from your 3 mobile. You can keep up-to-date with what you've spent this month, pay bills, see what price plan you're on, and much more."
Looks like i'll send them a letter recorded tommorow.

Any news on this, I got the letter today and am looking on getting out of the contract???

Thanks.

Hi,

I got a letter today stating there would be couple of price changes that I need to know about.

1) Any payment other than Direct Debit or Recurring Credit Card will increase from £3 to £4
2) From 20th October 2008 there is be £1 charge for receiving itemized bill I receive whilst eBills will be free.

When I took my Mix n Match contract a few months back there were no such charges but now that 3 is changing their pricing policy...am I eligible to cancel my contract? I have seen some threads before.. who were discussing about canceling contract due to the per second billing.. would I be able to do this in my case due to the fact I have received official confirmation via post?

Do let me know! Has anyone who is in Mix n Match got the same mail?

immediately send them notice of cancellation and state the reason as the increased charges, see what they come back with

Anything like this is always best to send a recorder delivery letter and keep the proof of postage along with a copy,
lets em know you are serious and doesn't give them a chance to trap you in a recorded phone conversation

Thanks! & Rep. Added! :-D

I just phoned 3 and they told me it was in the terms and conditions at the start of my contract which was in January, I think there fobbing me off

does this apply to all tariffs ? including the new promotional 1100 mix and match ?

If you managed to cancel your contract, would you still be able to keep your number? Would this need to be included in the letter, requesting a PAC?

Brilliant - thanks. Thought this thread had come to a close and didn't see the other one. Sent an email requesting my PAC code.

I got this letter on my Mobile Broadband Account, do I still have chance to cancel my Mobile Broadband account with this letter?
