    Can't find my MAC address!

A friend of mine gave me an old laptop so I decided to give it a clean so I could give it to my daughter for her to surf the net.

I re installed Windows Vista but since I've not been able to find the MAC address. I've run MS DOS and typed ipconfig/all to find the MAC address but I can't find it.

Anyone know what's the problem and how I can find the MAC address?

    Thanks.

You need to make sure there's a space between ipconfig and the /all, so it would be ipconfig /all.

Here's a pic so you can see what the output should look like (it's the section that states 'Physical Address').

As per my post you need a space between ipconfig and /all - your looking for the section that states 'Physical Address'.

    No network card installed correctly?

    No network card installed correctly?

Or the necessary device drivers are not installed.

When I first had the laptop, it was full of programmes and junk my daughter wouldn't use so I decided to install a new Windows.

Before I installed it, the laptop would pick up my home wireless network but since the new install, I can pick anything up.

Even if I plug a wired connection to the laptop it would pick anything up.

You need to install all drivers for the laptop. Google the model and you should be able to get them.

How do I find what drivers I need for the network card?

When I go into the device manager, it does say that the ethernet's are not working.

But how would they not work after a new Windows install?

The laptop is a Acer Aspire 5315.

Can someone point me in the right direction to the drivers I need?

Prior to me installing Windows, I would pick up my wireless network.

But since the new install it won't work and there's a problem with the ethernet drivers.

    Just get them all.

well, to get the mac address.. turn the laptop upside down :P
it should be written on there on a white sticker.
MAC address for the wired and wireless card.

master_chief's link will give all the drivers you need.

There's 4 different for WLAN alone...did they just buy parts off ebay when making these!

    All sorted. Driver installed.

Now when I enter ipconfig/all, it give me all the info I need.

    Cheers.
