Can't have VIRGIN, what's the best TV/internet deal?

Found 1st Aug 2007
Hi.

We are moving into an area that is not covered by Virgin Media.
We have been getting our TV, internet and phone from them for years and don't know any other options.

I am not bothered really about getting a landline, but assume I would need one for the internet?

My mum's freeview box wouldn't give me any signal either, so I assume that Sky would be my only option for TV (dont' want an overly expensive subscription though), can I get internet and phoneline from them too or would I need to get that from elsewhere.
And would the one-off Sky package thingy that was in Asda I think be a good deal for me?

We are currently on the £18 per month internet from Virgin (2mb I think?) and that is fine for us.

Please can anyone help me find a good package? I really don't know how to go about looking, or I wouldn't ask. Greatly appreciated

Thanks.

Just visited BT's website though and I will have to pay £125 installation fee!

Don't suppose there is a way to get broadband without a phone line, is there?
Or, perhaps a way to get round this installation charge?

Isnt that just for a new installation though ?

You sure there isnt a line in there already that just needs activating?

No, there is no line there whatsoever - wish there was LOL!

Is it only Virgin and BT that can install landlines?

BT has got clever (or greedy perhaps).. even if there is a line which hasnt been active for 6 months or more, they will send an engineer to activate / check which will cost the same £125
