    Capturing DVDs?

I wanted to make a montage of clips on YouTube, and to basically practise my newly learnt media experience...But this experience is yet to inform me of how to capture DVD footage onto the computer. Does anyone know of any free software or any techiques i need to do?

Thanks alot, and sorry if this is in the wrong area/not allowed :w00t: I swear I was born with 1/4 of a brain.

Pinnicle software is quite good, at that sort of stuff :thumbsup:

Are you capturing it from a camcorder or something?

I know Adobe Premiere pro has a capturing option built in, where you can capture the footage from a camera using a firewire

    I use Ulead Dvd MovieFactory.

Heres its homepage where you can get tips and also download a free trial.

um no, capturing off dvd

You will have to covert the dvd to avi (or similar) and then using the software I posted above view the avi in time line format. Then it should be just be a case of selecting which clips to capture separately.
