    Battery gone

tick tick sound normally means battery is flat

Try charging it before getting a new one.

Agree with the last three comments above that the battery is flat.
Question is why is it flat?
7 years onwards is when batteries start going (in which case you will need a new one) but it could just be flat for another reason.

1: did you leave some lights on or the radio on? (just get a jump start and go for a decent drive or recharge the battery).
2: Have you not used the car much over the Xmas and new year period? (just get a jump start and go for a decent drive or recharge the battery).
3: If none of the above, has your alternator gone? (Jump start the car and disconnect the battery while the engine is running. If it carries on running then the alternator is still working).

Thanks Guys, no didn't leave lights on, but think it is the original battery, I#ve had the car for 5 years and not replaced it.
Would this one fit this one

Thanks Nacho, would the one I linked to fit?

Bump start it and go from there..

Once started, go for a 'spirited' drive to recharge.

Which mk fiesta have you got?

Give eurocarparts.com/ a go - put in your reg number and check on there. Best part is you can order online and collect at a tonne of different locations.

    This should do the trick..

They have 180 places you can pick one up from..

It might not make sense to replace the battery after one 'flat' event. There's lots of things that could have drained it. Leaving the door open a jar would leave the interia light on, leaving the glove box open might leave the glove box light on. Leaving a phone charger connected might do it, or just not driving it much over the previous weeks.

Best to get it charged up, as suggested above, by giving it a good drive (revs high), and see how it goes. If you have breakdown/home start cover give them a call and they'll test things for you.

Most of the fast fit centers will test it for free, if you can prise the top off just check the level of the fluid inside, check all the cells have sufficient fluid to cover the lead, if any are low just top them up with cooled water from the kettle

There are obviously very good centers, but my experience with one, Kwik Fit, would suggest that they'd not only tell you you needed a new battery, one of the expensive ones, but your car also needed new brakes, an exhaust and a set of tyres!

Charge the battery up first , then go and get it checked . Our local motor accessory shop in the high street does a free test . They use a box that just clamps to the battery and checks the charge rate and whether the alternator is charging ........remember if a battery goes flat , it may be the a faulty alternator not charging it up .The box will also indicate if a battery cell is gone .
