Car Giant Help

Found 27th Oct 2008
A friend purchased a car from car giant about 2 weeks ago.
He paid the £17,000 it cost in cash ie no finance.
He also got 3 years warranty at a cost of about £1000
However since his had the car, his decided the car isnt for him.
Where does he stand legally, i mean because of the sheer volume of the transaction does he have a cooling off period, in which to change his mind.
He not gonna ask for his money back, his just gonna pick another car.

Any advice? All help appreciated thanks.

Possibly by manufacturer.

No " cooling off " period, they will of course take it back in part exchange, but he will get seriously hit financially.

He would be better off getting some use out of the car.

Just thought he was trying to be smart so that was my best reply I could do.

Doesn't he have any information from when he bought it?

True, dont need smart a** comments like that!!

Unless countless things kept going wrong....... Then he could reject the car.

What will happen otherwise is they will give him trade px value against another car and then resell his at a profit.

he doesn't stand anywhere legally - it serves him right if he bought the car on a whim and now he feels it doesn't suit him - perhps next time he decides to make a purchase of any sort he thinks before he buys !
