cheers but i dont think its that good imo and it takes forever to fill in

Check out the ones on quidco giving cashback, bro got his with churchill and got £60 cashback.

Yes but if you save more than £60 with another insurer then that's pointless.

Quinn is usually cheapest for that age group. If you can add an experienced older female driver to the insurance it should reduce the cost considerably.

Try Liverpool Victoria and the CO-OP insurance. They don't normally come up on these collective searches. Recently done this, average cost £1,350 between insurers. Got ours down to £1,000. But although he is 17, drives our car - so he is on our insurance.

Don't try the one about buying him a car but saying it's his mums car. Insurers are wise to that and always ask how many cars are in the family.

thanks i paid £1400 last year for my clio, cost more than the car :-(

kwik fit is the best, last year my Citroen C2 was £1300, i was 19 with 0 years no claims, this year its £650 with 1 years no claims, which shows if you pay alot with one firm they will then reward you should you have no claims

thanks

try endsleigh just got my son who is 17 a policy and it was the cheapest of all even with quidco this was still the cheapest by a long way.

I recommend Quinn, my daughter is 17 and she went on confused.com... they turned out the cheapest, and if im on the policy as named driver it reduces it even more.. still £745 tho!!!

Very funny!!! :giggle:

I think my daughters insurance is steep, and if she were a male yes your right it would probably be a lot higher, but then, if she were a male she would probably be ragging it round the streets every night.

A lad my daughter was at school with passed his test, within two weeks he was stopped for drink driving and went to court and got a year ban. This is just proof that the majority of lads at this age shouldnt be on the road.. I personally think a year isnt long enough. ((thats my rant for the day))

As for you, hang in there, it does get cheaper with age :-D

again quinn Direct but make sure the car is smaller than a 1200cc as once you go over it will rise by a minimum of 45%:?

my daughter was 17 when she passed her test
Took my wifes clio out to go to her grandmothers house 2 hours after passing. Plod stopped her with blues and twos and booked her as she turned on the fog lights by mistake. When she said she didn't realise she had done it, she was told "you shouldn't by driving it if you dont know what you are doing!"
This realy helped her confindance:x

thats not nice, yeah under 1.2 or the price goes miles high, problem with 1.2 is that its hard to overtake especially long vehicles, im like 'i can take it' and then put my foot flat down and nothing happens :w00t:

i dunno if it still works, but i was able to get onto my mums insurance for £300.

she has a 3 year old 1.6 punto sporting, im 17 and male, an £300 is an absolutely fantastic price

so if any1 is looking to do the same kind of thing, go to post office website an get insured as a named driver...its really cheap

hope it works/helps

thanks brad

I know that my car insured with Direct Line and although my mother is the primary policy holder, as a named driver I'm also getting a no claims discount. This means the insurance is at a 50 something year old's rate of £600 (for 3 year old 1.2litre fiat punto), whereas if I got a policy in my name it would be hundreds more due to my age and lack of driving years plus I receive the huge benefit of building up a no claims bonus which will be invaluble when getting insurance later on in life.

Direct line is competitive and no claims bonus for named drivers definately worth considering. Saved my family hundreds.
