    Look around
    Also Quidco
Have got £50.00 a year back from them last 2 years.

why becuase diectline they can't be beat?

try gocompare.com through quidco find best deal and remember to check if cashback through quidco works out better ;-) clear cookies if going through quidco for policy

This happened me when my first renewal came around. At the time they were running some 52 days worth of free insurance offer. I put my details into that and my quote came out around £25 cheaper than the renewal they offered. So I rang them up, told them what I'd done, and they agreed to match the online quote I got.

At the moment they're running 8 weeks of free insurance or something - have a crack with that. Just enter all your details and get a quote. If it's cheaper, give them a ring and tell them to match it or you're off! Good luck :).

my motorbike policy went up loads after my first year with no claims so i just switched companies shop around you;ll find a better bargain

    confused.com ... very good

aviva...not generally on comparison sites and I think they might still be offering 12 months for the price of 10

    Tried confused.com

Done quotes on More Than, LV... Others... All slightly more expensive than Direct Line..

Even quote i did on direct line site, was more than the renewal quote i was offered. By around £9 a month.

Renewal person said rates had gone up, was nowt they could do about it... Man, really has put me in a foul mood today. Was looking forward to a reduction, not a bloody increase.

tried Swinton? i have been with them - through confused.com but swinton themselves are a broker - have my car and home ins through them with Fortis insurance .. 11 years no claims me and the wife £300 fully comp

Just tried swinton - far more expensive than Direct Line quote unfortunately

i was with direct line for years didnt think anyone could beat them, got a cheaper quote from co-operative bank (i do have an account with them) got £50 cash back from them straight into my account, and have £54 cashback pending on a cashback site !! (prob wont get both but hey it was cheaper anyway !)

yep - I too moved away from directline a while back - defo not always the cheapest - what on earth makes you think they are or everyone would use them?

Especially now so many offer decent cashback I've had 100's back in 2 years for my GF's car & mine.

+1 for Swinton. Currently £40 cb via TCB, plus £40 cb new customer online via redemption.
Saved a bomb a bike, BMW, renewal after cb etc £38 full comp not the £140 Bennetts wanted.
Car, V70 ,quote worked out slightly more but after total cb etc was better than the rest, and still with the same insurance co's.
    All tracked and paid btw.
