I have an audi a3 1.9 tdi and its time to get its timing belt changed, i was just wondering do i just need to replace the actual belt and use the old tensioner and idler or will i have to buy new ones.

You want to change it all and the water pump as well

It's advisable to get the whole lot done. At least then, you will have a warranty included. If you only get certain parts done, your likely not to get a warranty and if anything fails, you are stuck with the cost.

Normally, when dealing with belts, it's belt, tensioners and water pump.
