Worst kept secret in football ........

I just don't understand Roman philosophy, does he just not get it that money won't buy you success.

Ancelloti, like Scolari can't speak a word of English, which I imagine was half the battle.

Buying the biggest names in the business just won't resolve his issues.

    Well that's not true.

    Also, money does buy success.

Well it does though doesn't it.

Back to back prem titles is a big backup to that claim . . . .

More down to Morinho IMO..... buying the best players in the world is one thing, but getting them to play well together is a whole other story.

Money doesn't buy you the league, but it gets you 99% of the way there.

    I'm glad it's Ancelotti, because i don't think he's a good a manager as Hiddink

He's not leaving oficially - "Technical Advisor" is his new title at the club or "The bloke on standby as he runs his Russia contract down in case Ancelotti is crap" if you read between the lines . . . .

    Man City? Umm, nope

Chelsea? 2 Prem titles and an FA Cup for £600 million. That's £200million each

Even winning the CL is £92 million prize fund, still not going to break even.

If Chelsea were run as a proper business they would have been insolvent years ago! Hardly the traits of "success"

Man City only became 'rich' less than a season ago. Give them a chance.

I think it's very naive, yet quite sweet that you don't think money and success are linked. You say that money can't buy success then state EXACTLY how much Chelsea's success cost.:-D

Chelsea were pretty much insolvent before Abramovich arrived after they invested heavily to reach the Champions League. So did Leeds. But football isn't always about 'proper businesses'.

    +1

They were £80m in debt with administrators poised when Abramovich arrived and settled up with their creditors, so saving them from the brink may be deemed a success . . .

    Plus its 2 x PL titles, 2 x FA cups and 2 x Carling cups in the last 5 seasons, making it a mere £100m per trophy . . . . . :whistling:
