Carrying sealed packs of caffeine pills in hand luggage?

Found 13th Jun
On a stag do in a couple of weekends time and just wondering if anyone knows if I will get prevented or seriously searched if I take something like the below in hand luggage onto a plane

ebay.co.uk/itm…MlF

I generally take a pack of pro plus with me which are sealed like pain killers along with co-codamol and ibuprofen and have no issues.

Will the above cause issues at all?

So long as they are a legal product in the UK, no problem.

This month out of 4 weekends I have the "pleasure" of 3 stag do's (2 down) and travelling for a wedding the other 1 and I run off caffeine. I suspect I may need them to function/survive on my final stag do.

ok? so you dont think you will have enough time to recover in 5 days between each stag?

PS> im not being condescending or even trying to be. It's just difficult for me to imagine how hard you would need to party to take something to help you get through a day

It's caffeine, nothing illicit. 5 days is enough but I naturally drink a lot of coffee and struggle to sleep in warm countries and in a bed that isn't my own. I'd rather not be falling asleep at 11pm.

Espresso Martini's?

Haha, nah. To be fair I'm off to Budapest for the second time and I don't really like Beer or Lager. Not the ideal destination for a Rum / Gin drinker!

Factually incorrect (to put it politely)

Codein phosphate based analgesics (Co-codamol 8mg) are OTC legal in the uk and completely illegal in quite a few others inc Turkey. But what could possibly go wrong on a Stag do where caffeine is deemed a pre-requisite?
Couldn't you stash them in your Prison Pocket?

1. I know the laws surrounding co-codamol.

2. I know right, imagine someone having some caffeine after a particularly long and stressful month to focus and get a small boost in energy levels, how preposterous. That's why coffee and red bull never became popular...

Caffeine is perfectly legal and the worlds most popular and frequently taken drug. Yet apparently taking it is something ridiculous to you.

If you can't assist why don't you sod off to another thread (to put it politely)

Already full with my heroin stash...
Paint them blue and put in a viagra box!
They won't try to embarass you any further.

I was answering the OP's question, correctly. And I certainly didn't feel the need to make a moral judgement on the OP's holiday.

Thanks and it is appreciated. I know caffeine pills are legal, just that the packaging makes them look how I'd consider actual drugs would be packaged. Was wondering if people had travelled with them packaged as such before and if it would cause issues?33997327-EXy0M.jpg
They are ok with caffeine pills in Thailand so you'll be ok somewhere in Europe ;).

dodgy advice imo dont assume something is legal in country A because its legal in country B
an easy way to end up in serious trouble

It's not dodgy advice.

Thailand has some of the strictest laws on drugs. Caffeine isn't restricted anywhere in Europe and in pretty much the rest of the world... The point of my post was that if it is legal in a country where they're so strict with drugs, it will be fine in Europe!

We're talking about caffeine (which is not even a real drug)...

What you said would apply to specific medications/hard drugs and I agree with that.

My turn for a dumb question. Why not just take ProPlus. Yes it may be a little dearer and only 50mg of caffeine per tablet.
You could always take 4 to match dosage and safe yourself the risk of a free rubber glove prostate rub. Now if you choose to pay for one later in the spirit of the stag that’s another story.

better off checking the restrictions/laws for the country you intend taking the items to rather than another country
there are drugs you can buy over the counter without a scrip in Thailand that you need a scrip for in other countriesso your arguement falls down there

Just due to me tolerance of caffeine from the volume of coffee I drink on a daily basis I end up needing a rather large amount and then just look equally suspicious

I already said we were talking about caffeine... not some obscure prescription drug. Caffeine is not a medication by the way. Your argument falls down there.
He's going to another European country, not Saudi Arabia.
No need to drag this on really... it wasn't meant as general advice as in "if something is legal in Thailand, then it's legal anywhere else". I think anyone can understand what I meant and the tone in which I said it.
Well this has caused some snarky and bting comments, wished I'd never posted it now haha.

Let's all come together and hug it out
OP, I think you need an intervention...
