i know but it all makes sense what they are saying.

i could talk sense if i want to rob you of £500 there must be plenty of firms that will do it for free or a cut of your settlement

    Avoid it! Scam!

Whilst it was legit, it's a simple enough process to get bank charges back yourself and you don't have to pay anyone else to do it for you. I'd say that if what this company telling you sounds plausable, then why not look into it yourself and take it on yourself? The £500 might well just be an upfront payment, but what are they asking afterwards and is it all still payable whether you get anything back or not. otherwise you could end up being £500 and possibly more out of pocket.

With things like mis-selling of policies, it's usually a case of finding some template letters online from people doing the same thing and sending them off yourself. If you can find a forum with other people doing the same thing, you'll get everything you need there. That's what I did with claiming bank charges back for my mum. If things have been mis-sold, there is a lot of support out there from places like the financial ombudsman - you don't have to have a company doing anything on your behalf

THANKS FOR THAT, I DID ALL THE BANK CHARGES VIA TEMPLATES, BUT CANT FIND ANY ON THIS.

ONLY PLACE I FOUND REFERANCE TO IT WAS MONEY SAVINGS EXPERT SITE. AND ALL POSTS WERE REMOVED BECAUSE CARTEL SERVICES THREATENED LEAGAL ACTION. SO I AM ASSUMING THE COMMENTS ARE NEGATIVE.

Listen to what everyone is saying - if this firm was legit & knew that they could get back lots of money for you then they would ask for a cut of what they win for you.

If you pay them before they do anything for you, do you REALLY think they are going to work their hardest to win as much back for you as they can (assuming that they will even try to win some back for you)? You would have already paid them, so they won't care what happens.

Which other strangers do you pay up front in the hope that maybe they might be able to help you? STAY CLEAR!

There's a thing in business called a "loss-leader". The principle of it is that you lose money up-front, but it's worth doing, because you make loads of money later on. Supermarkets do it all the time with their BOGOF and super-cheap prices on goods. Lose a bit of money, but draw people into the shop. It's a great business plan, as it works really well. That these guys want money up front shows that they're either lousy businessmen, or scammers.

    They're scammers, btw.

i am not saying i am going to, i am trying to collect all the information prior to assuming its a scam.

I would advise that if you understand exactly what they are getting at and are saying you have been mis-sold, get in touch with the financial ombudsman yourself and see if they can give you any advice on what action you should be taking. I'm sure a little while ago they were encouraging people to contact them if there was a problem with their mortgage or policy. It didn't affect me so I didn't take too much interest, but I'm sure it was them.

Citizens advice are also a good place to go for information as they can tell you who you need to contact to take matters further. Keep re-phrasing your search on google because I'm sure there will be something out there somewhere on all of this. Paying up front for anything is never a good sign, and when they threaten to take legal action if comments about them aren't removed - as you said yourself, that's not a good sign. If they were a good company, they'd want everyone to know as more people would go to them after reading everyone elses positive experiences
