    Cash Converters

    Hi,

I am after a Wii and the cheapest I can find is at Cash Converters for £24.99 with all cables and controllers.

How reliable is this company and is this a good price?

    Thanks

just ask them how long it has a warranty for ?

They are OK... can sometimes have issues if the product is defective, but just don't be fobbed off by them IF it is defective. I bought a phone from CC once, took it back next day as it had been blacklisted (reported stolen) they tried to get me leave it with them while they had it "assessed". I got my money back that day!

Have you checked eBay? The paypal protection could prove very useful in this situation.

Yeah, nothing I'm happy with on eBay! I'll have to keep looking though as not sure about CC.

Have you tried your local Grainger games or Game? I would also advise that CEX or Cash Generator will be very similar to Cash Converters. Only other thing I can think of at the moment is local sales on Facebook, but you have zero protection when buying from Facebook and people on there aren't the most honest.

ebay.co.uk/itm…976?hash=item2a783bc350:g:Va0AAOSwjDZYZ9Zp 40 minutes left, seems fair, but it has been years since I even looked at a Wii

Not sure the price in CEX. Buy I'd go with them if similar. 2 year warranty, no quibble return. Likely to be able to replace right away.

where are you based? there are lots on Gumtree as well you can also modify them very easily which unlocks them to play dvds and other things

if it's defective expect feirce resistance from the staff especially if it's a franchise store I am sure returns come out of the wages of the staff member who sold it you by the way they try and say anything to fob you off, That's all I got is it's my fault when I took something back to Preston one, hence I don't buy from them anymore the warranty and consumer laws are not being adhered to by this franchise store. so I avoid all Cash Generator's now like the plague!

far better to get one from CeX boxed in A grade condition. you even get a 2 year warranty! and they're good with returns and customer service.

Look on gumtree as there's usually loads on there - ignore the listed prices & just make an offer for whatever you think is reasonable to a few different people & you're fairly certain to be able to pick one up for a decent price the same day.

Also Wii's are fairly reliable regardless of condition so wouldn't be too fussed about warranty really. If it works when you get it then it's unlikely to break down unless you hit it with a hammer.

How can you tell what's A grade on the CeX website though? And I don't think any of them come with controllers?

I think all CEX consoles come with a controller (plus a nunchuck for Wii consoles) - although there's no guarantee of getting official controllers. The only way to check condition would be to buy it from a shop where you can see it before you buy.
