cat7 ethernet installation advice please

Hello

I have cat7 installed in my house during a rewire (I got it really cheap before anyone says its pointless over cat6!)

I want to fit cat6 faceplates like the ones below but im unsure of the best method to do so.

I've read about having to earth it properly, some links stating this should only be done at one faceplate and not the other etc.

Could anyone advise on how I properly connect the cables up to the cat6 faceplates to ensure proper earthing/grounding. I'm not looking for it to all be up to spec and pass cat tests etc its just for a home network so I just want a clean connection.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Adam

Do the cat 6 Modules accommodate an Screen / Earth?, if it does then terminate the screen and foil as per the Instructions, if they dont then youve just created a problem for yourself as your now going to have to terminate each one without the screen and somehow make a neat and proper job of hiding and insulating the screen, same the other end, I assume your using patch panels, if not why not, the panel will or will not accommodate a screen termination. the cable should be screened at both ends and also be earthed at the panel. In theory if you have the cable runs screened and not terminated, It could act as an aerial and pick up unwanted RF or Electrical noise.

Whats more inportant, is the correct termination of the twisted pairs, they need to be twisted right up to the termination punch down, so dont untwist them thinking its going to make your life easier.

Ive been doing this sort of stuff for over 30 years and I seen some right messy Data Cable installs and terminations, if in doubt, and no reflection on your own skills, get someone in with experience to do the termination.

I've never earthed a faceplate before. Is that a new thing? I will be running CAT6 around my house very soon during a rewire but hadn't read about earth termination.
umm maybe try and leave a bit of spare cable at each end in case you want to go with cat 7 modules in future,
are you seriously running 4 cables to each endpoint?

you would if the cables are shielded, most cat 5/6 wasn't cabling errors can cost a fortune down the line for commercial enterprises

Ah that makes sense. I've also hired specialist cable fitters when we've had large cabling jobs at work.
