cannot believe what i did tonight
after all posts on here about being careful

i went to an auction of americana collectibles - led to believe they were from containers that had been in storage since early 1970s

didnt have time to view - got there after auction had started so didnt have time to look at items properly
already had a catalogue so i began my bidding

ok didnt spend a fortune - thank christ

gets home with my goodies - gets my favorite ones out and started to clean them only to find makers mark on back of some of them ...............made in 1993!!

i will make my money back but i am still peeved

few advertising boards - some really nice prints - actually 3 of them do look genuine - off to valuers tomorrow

hope you get more than you paid for them then! Good luck

Not so much buyer beware....as buyer be aware....

...this is what happens when you rush into purchases without checking the item first

Oh dear! What a shame. Although at least you'll get your money back. Just look at it the other way, you might have lost your money, or you could have won a fantastic lot. It's the luck of the draw.

If it was wrongly advertised as vintage you could take it further.

Well how did they lead you to believe that it had been stored since the 70s? is it in the catalogue or was it on the website or ever stated by the auctioneer?
