    CCTV DVR 4CH WANTED - any help?

    I am looking for a 4ch dvr for CCTV

    i would want to be able to record at a high resolution like 720*576 but at a decent fps atleast 12.5fps per channel or be able to chose what fps to use, as i would probably only use 2 cameras on it, ideally being able to record at 25fps per camera, at a high resolution would be better

    i want one where i can at least view live, record, remote access at the same time, i think they call them multiplex

    backup via usb and/or network would be a bonus, i do not need one with a cd or dvd rw

    to summarize, i need a DVR with the following
    4ch DVR standalone
    Network enabled
    motion detection
    backup options
    decent FPS and resolution
    VGA connection(optional, but bonus)
    smaller than 39cm width

    anyone into this sort of thing?

    I think maplin have reduced some prices on their DVR's , going by there recent mail shot I got the other day. I've had a few cameras from them in the past . I have a mobile 4 channel DVR , 2 x video output ,MD , FPS adjustable [1,3,7,14,16,25] ,no network ,250BG HDD ,bought from them too .
    Check out the prices at ebay .

    I'd recommend one made by a company called Symphony from here;

    I have the 4 channel one.

    I quite like them as you can view it remotely so if you're round your friends you can view your CCTV and even download it there. It records up to 50fps.

    It's pricey but it's a good bit of kit, the ones for Maplin are quite poor if you can afford to pay more then i'd do so.

    thanks for the replies

    i will give maplin a miss tbh, they tend to be expensive for what they offer

    @ red that dvr looks good, but i can't see the price without logging in, also it is slightly to big for where i would be putting it, it needs to be sub 39cm that one is 43cm

    Have you though about using a PCI card in your computer? If you're limited on space then you can use one of those in your PC rather than buying any bulky new bits of kit.

    It's what I originally used before I decided to go down the DVR route, here one on E-bay

    Alternatively you could buy a cheap laptop and use this;

    120425093928

    That's the smallest DVR you're going to get and you don't have to worry about an external screen or anything as the laptop will do it all. It would also be simple to back up via USB or DVD or whatever as it would all be in windows.

    sorry i should of mentioned i don't wanna go the pc route

    i want a semi decent standalone system that will go in my entertainment unit under the tv..

    i have a crappy camera hooked up now connected to the tv, wanna go one step further now, but don't want a pc one

    i have a budget of about £400, for the dvr and 2 night vision cameras, which i have yet to chose

    I use these cameras which I can't fault;

    If needed I can take a few screen shots at night to show you the quality.

    How about this;

    yes please, would like to see the quality at night

    RE that item number, i am going to avoid cmos cameras as they are not very good

    and i also want a dvr that can do atleast 12.5fps (bonus 25fps) on each of my two cameras at the higher resolution of 720×576...or atleast have some control of choosing what fps to use on said channel/camera

    i am not to bothered about it being 100fps dvr, which they normally are anyway as they would record at 25fps per channel but at the lower resolution 352×288

    Moved to correct Forum (Deal Requests) - Thanks for the report.
