Cd burning question/problem whats the best free software to use?

Now dvd burning is fine, I just use imgburn.

But cd burning is awful, tried taiyo yuden cd'rs verbatims etc and they all work but the cd read speed once burned is all over place and since most of my cd burns are for games it means they have jumpy fmvs'

Have tried burn4free, imgburn, dvd decrypter, cdburner xp is strange, they burn(as I override the auto speed scan) and when verifying it goes fast and no slower and slower read speeds.

But after burning windows sees it as still empty, as does my ps1 emulator.

But Imgburn. dvd decrypter, cdburnerxp etc see it as complete, and the disc if you look at it is burned in

nero for years and works great. you can get it for a fiver delivered from ebay or torrent it for free. I use v7.5 on vista and never crashes or has any burn failures at all.

try - BurnAware

Good point, if its the same with whatever software you use, maybe its your writer at fault or reader if you use a seperate drive for reading?

Writer issue, by the sound o things try burning at a lower speed eg 20x.
