CEX: Buying online from Cex and paying with Cex Exchange Vouchers

Hi, I have recently ordered £62 of dvds from Cex online & have provisionally entered my debit card details to pay for the order, I then want to send my Cex vouchers by post to pay for the order so they will refund my debit card.

My 2 questions are:

1. When I ordered it said I will get an email to say my order has gone through (how long does that take, as I can't send my Cex vouchers until I have that email, as so far when I log into Cex, I can't find this order anywhere, so I guess I just have to wait until they email me. The only reason why I am worried as it says in the FAQ: "Should the voucher/s be received after three days of the date of the order, or should the voucher/s be invalid, CeX will return the voucher/s to the customer and not issue a refund to the original method of payment to the value of the voucher/s."

So Cex only give you 3 days from when you order and I know they are really slow acknowledging they have received items from me previously (in the past I have sent them items to get the vouchers by recorded delivery & from the date on the royal mail website it said they received them, it took a further 2 weeks & several emails until on their website their status changed to received & testing) so I am thinking it will take several days at least until I have an email about my order.

2. My second question it says to send vouchers by special delivery. That is £4.30 has anyone just send them by recorded delivery 1st class before and was your transaction successful.

Thank-you

I would try asking on the CEX forums, you "should" get a reply.

I do not like the idea of the online trading, so I just go to a local branch

i placed an order last monday for a gamecube, and i sent my vouchers off the same day but i used special delivery as i just didnt trust recorded. i got my email seconds after placing the order too. i also ordered some games etc but after sending my vouchers away i got another email to say not everything was in stock. they actually charged the revised amount to my card but refunded the original amount using when they got my vouchers. not sure if that is normal though :?
it really is your own risk sending via recorded, but generally first class recorded does arrive withing one working day.

if barbie has my problem, and that being the nearest cex is a £10 fare and hour an a half bus journey away, online is waaaay easier lol

Thank-you, the reason why, i don't really want to buy the items instore in that only a couple are in stock at my local Cex and it would cost a couple of pounds bus fare or parking.

And from previous experience I have got to the store & they haven't got the item in stock anymore (I rang the 0845 number before & they said it was in stock, but when I got down to the store they said they sold it the week before) so I find their stores agnoring & they also said they couldn't give change in vouchers so I would have to buy other stuff I don't really want, to use all the credit
