CEX Credit

Hey I was just wondering really...

If I trade an item in at CEX and receive in store credit. Is it then possible to sell that credit voucher? Basically, is CEX in store credit transferable?

Thanks

Yes, but you gotta wait 7 days now if your going sell on here

Oh Okay! How comes?

It's a rule, a pointless one.

But what's the rule? That if I ask about CEX then I can't sell what I am asking about? I don't understand how this could be constructed into a rule!

But thanks for the help!

The rule is you can't sell it on here for 7 days (down to the very minute) from the last post of a thread related to the item you want to sell

If you do want to sell on here, I would get this expired because if you wait 6 days and 23 hours and someone makes a post "asking the time?" or something stupid then you will have to wait another week, and I'm not even joking! lol

It's because it could be looked at as though people are gaining interest before listing their items on FS/FT

Its so that you cant post a misc thread about it and gather loads of interest while getting around the three bump rule in the FS/FT section.

Okay, that's fair enough. Thanks guys

You'd have to get this thread locked by a mod and wait 7 days from the lock date and time

Oh and its not pointless. Its one of the few rules I agree with!

Original Poster

I agree with it although I do feel a little cheated by a rule I was unaware of, I genuinely and innocently didn't mean to advertise my product and was asking a simple question, and as such now can't post an item up for a week

I think its a stupid rule too

Thats why its stupid

I'm clearly not gauging interest, as I didn't post an amount of the voucher or anything. It could be a fiver or a five hundred pound voucher, so am I still breaching the rule?

The rule itself is not stupid as otherwise the misc section would be full of valuation threads. What is stupid is that very few people are aware of it.

In ours eyes? No
In the eyes of a mod? . . . . Maybe!

So to have valuation threads is a no, no.

but stupid threads are allowed, like the guy yesterday asking "what avatar he should use"!

Some of the threads posted in misc make me cringe to be honest yet a guy asking how much he thinks something is worth is wrong?

Best thing to do is report this thread to a mod and ask them

And you havent explicitly stated you want to sell it here. You may have a chance

(I'd get this thread locked too)

No, valuation threads are perfectly allowed- but you have to report it for a mod lock and then wait seven days from the last activity in the thread before listing in FS/FT. Seven days, to clarify, means exactly seven days- so if your valuation thread was locked on Wednesday the 12th at 14:38, you'd need to wait till Wednesday the 19th at 14:38 to make your FS/FT listing.

supermod

Thread closed - as highlighted above you cannot list this item or offer it for sale / trade in any other members thread in either FS/T or Fo.lk for 7 full days starting from the date of my post in accordance with forum rules.
