CeX Credit note Exp Date Q

8
Found 29th May 2010
I traded in a few old dvds today for a credit note which i am wanting to use for mario galaxy 2 when it comes out.
The expiry date on the credit note clearly states that it doesnt expire until 5th june 3010.
Is this a misprint and it expires only next week ?
Or is it unlimited ?

perhaps it doesnt work until 3010!

it would be interesting to pass this down the generations until 3010 and make them pay out!
I traded a psp game in once and got a £6 voucher and im sure it said its till 12/302099 or something.
either way you could argue in-store that it doesn't expire for the next 1000 years ^_^
im sure you get just over a year with cex vouchers. correct me if im wrong, but aprox 13 months.
OP, for future reference, you'd likely do much better by selling your DVDs on here for cash (I shudder to think what you got at CEX) which you could have used towards buying a new copy of Mario Galaxy at a retailer doing a good price on it- as opposed to buying a second hand copy at CEX which will probably stay at £40 for a good while after release!!!
actually i got a pretty good deal with my dvd's. I compared how much i would have got for them on ebay and amazon and after all the fees and postage i would end up with less.
So i traded them into cex as i would have paid cash anyways for mario galaxy 2 so why not free up some shelf space ?

so is my credit note a misprint ?
Did you find out the answer to this in the end? I got a credit note the other day which expires 9/9/3011. I am guessing since we have had this happen twice that they're just putting "forever" because the machine will always print an expiry date, which is sometimes shorter. I hope so cos I'm not sure I'll use it up before the 9th.

Does anyone know if you can use the note at a different shop to the one I traded in at? I also believe this is the case, but if someone can put me straight, please do.

EDIT: To answer my own question. I was in a CEX store today and, as I suspected, the 3011 date is just to satisfy the computer system, and you can use credit in any store.
