CEX have given me a tracking number but there is no record of the item

I ordered a 3DS XL from CEX and they emailed me to say it was posted out on 28/12/16 - they gave me the tracking number - being delivered by a company called DX. However, I've just checked on the DX website to get an update, and there is no record of the tracking number. I called their office and was told they have nothing to deliver to me with that tracking number - has anybody had problems with a tracking number issued to them by CEX before? Thank you.

Some of it with a CEX voucher and the difference by Paypal.

Right now couriers are still dealing with a backlog so could just be their system hasnt logged it right. Give them a few days then contact CEX

It's possible DX only handle parcels within London and it might have been contracted out to another company which that code belongs to. A local courier where I live that I use called GB Couriers does this and they have a contract with Interlink I believe and sometimes the tracking code they give me is one of theirs and other times it is an interlink code. All I can advise is to email/call CEX.

It's Christmas period. Deliveries are on and off. DX is literally one of the worst companies to deal with too. They're a contractor based company. Just be patient the console should arrive!

As above tracked deliveries are all over the place. I had a bed delivered this week and according to the tracking numbers I was given it is still 'in transit'. Didn't register at all for about a week.

Whats this got to do with undelivered 3DS

they more than likely have an account with DX, which means they will have labels they stick on that have tracking numbers, it will get logged on to the system when dx pick up and scan the label

I get alot of stuff off cex online, often they update the tracking number before the item is passed to the courier/royal mail. So often it can be another day or two before the courier picks it up from the store its coming from.

This is not a CEX problem. This is a scam known to electronic exchange places and is just as infuriating to them as it is for you.

A customer will sell a phone to them.

2 days later will phone the insurance company and claim the phone is missing.

At this point, customer has the money from the retailer

    Retailer is in a loss.

If you show them it has been blocked by law they have to exchange the phone

The tracking number is pre used when packaged by cex it won't show as live until DX takes the item and scans it.

Likely thing is despite them saying it is despatched it is still waiting pick up at a CeX store.
