CEX warrenty repair

Roughly three month ago I brought a 3rd gen kindle fire model in store. Over the past 3 days it has been having screen problems. I took it back to the store and after testing it, they seemed the problem to be because of customer damage(I am very careful with my kindle, so this shouldn't of been the reason), and refused to refund me. However I never said I wanted a refund and as far as I understood the 24 month warrenty covered faults caused in normal use. Am I misreading the warrenty information or do they have the right to not try to repair or replace it?

What exactly are they saying is 'customer damage' and when you say screen problems, what is the problem? It does sound like they are fobbing you off though
