:thumbsup:I always use travelex online.

Have you used this site b4?

It is pretty poor rate right now, Nationwide cards are prob best i think to use! Enjoy NYC!

thanks both, any more ideas welcome

Nationwide cards definitely the best - unless the pound keeps sinking between now and when you go!
M&S usually have the best high street rates.

Nationwide card? do i need to open a bank account with them then?

Yes you will have to, but they are making you have it as your main bank account now to keep people using them afterwards ( i used to work for them) or if you have great credit rating you may just get one.

I have found that any of those cheque cashing outlets, found on some high streets, have the best exchange rates, even better than banks or travel agents!

dont the post office do it rather cheap but they have to order in the currency that takes a few days though

Go onto www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel, have a look at the prepaid fx card. It also has some handy info on what credit/debit cards to use or avoid.

American Express had a better exchange rate in their Travel Agents than Marks And Spencer in my local town
