    Cheap and amazing hand cleaner........

.........yesterday a biro pen leaked while I was writing, spent ages trying to get it off and was then advised by a mate to use washing up liquid and sugar, he is a mechanic and said it beats Swarfega.

I was amazed, drunk at the time but amazed!

Always been very popular and so useful because it is in most houses. Use hand lotion after though because neat washing up liquid can dry the skin easily. I had to buy my other half his own lotion after he kept robbing mine (now there is a niche market...mechanics own brand hand lotion)

Sand also works well in place of sugar

    or salt

Personally would not use this regularly. Salt draws out moisture. Could leave you more prone to dermatitis or eczema of the hands

i can understand liquid but how do you use the sugar, do you mix it or something?

Pour the fairy liquid a cup or straight to one hand then take a generous handful of sugar and rub the dirt / oil off, I suppose this also exfoliates your skin to, but I wouldn't use it for that as others have said undiluted washing up liquid isn't ideal for your skin.

    cool! thanks

Nothing elaborate. Get a teaspoonsful of sugar in your hand then small drop of washing up liquid and rub together. You can feel it getting the grime off. Rinse really well because although seems like all soap off....need to make sure
