Cheap and easy way of repairing grout?

Heyo, any tilers out there lol.

Need to repair the grouting in my bathroom, some of it is flaking away and water may be gettin in there. Cant afford a new bathroom at the moment, so I was wondering, without removing all the grout, is there a temporary solution ? Like to put a sealerr over the bad grout? I will be doing the bathroom within a year c! ?

Although you said you don't want to re-grout, I borrowed a Dremel from mother in law to take out some bad grout, then just re did it.
Only took about half an hour to do around the edges of four 8" tiles.

problem is, my mother doesnt have a dremel

Grouting is easy enough to replace anyway mate, simply get a snapped hacksaw blade and run the teeth between the tiles to remove some of the old stuff to give enough depth to put a new layer in, give a quick wipe to remove any powdery residue and then apply new grout (which is dirt cheap anyway) no need for fancy applicators as a surplus mobile top-up is a great tool for grouting and filler application, they key to minimising labour is work a small area at a time and wipe any surplus off the tiles with a damp cloth regularly while its still wet - once its dried its harder to get off than Michael Jackson on a school bus.

lmao at the last comment lol.

Thanks for that, think I may have a bash at this. Although my DIY is not 100% lol

hubby is a tiler and said that even regrouting won't make any difference if water has gone behind the tiles because the same thing will happen again :-(

    Paint the tiles

    Job Done
