That would depend on where in Glasgow you want to stay? It's a pretty big city!

Do you want city centre? or West End? or something on the outskirts of Glasgow?

As Katrb says Glasgow is a big place. Really depends when you are going and how much you want to spend. At the weekends you could get a good price at a hotel that would probably be around the same as a decent B&B. If it a B&B you want try www.visitscotland.com

innkeeperslodge at strathclyde country park or at cumbernauld are very good with continental breakfast which is very good, price range from 40 to 50 a night the room, they are both about 15 min drive into city centre:)

I recently took the kids off for a couple of days staying in a Youth hostel (Aviemore).

It wasnt the Ritz but did what it said on the tin & was clean, safe & friendly (the kids loved it).

Glasgow one looks not too bad so might be worth a whirl glasgowhostel.co.uk/

Even better you can use Tesco clubcard vouchers to pay.

Youth Hostel in Aviemore is much different from the euro hostel in glasgow.

I would gladly take my kids to the one in Aviemore but I wouldn't stay in the Glasgow one.

Glasgow is a very different place to Aviemore - and the area of town that the Hostel is in - although in city centre - does attract a lot of undesireables - not really a place you would want to be as an adult - never mind with kids.

There are lots of family run B&B's that are good and cheap - as engadine says try visitscotland.com

Fair point katrb Glasgow is pretty different from Aviemore :-D

Not sure if were talking about the same hostel though I'm talking about the SYHA Hostel next to Kelvingrove park hostels.com/en/…ts/

but you mentioned the "Euro Hostel" euro-hostels.co.uk/Gla…tml.

I've not stayed in the Glasgow SYHA one so cant vouch for it personally (though the reviews are quite good!) - anyone got personal experience??

many thanks for all replies. i am going to my mates place but i'd rather saty in B&B than his place. B7B can be anywhere in glasgow as i am only goint their to spend a night..most of the time i'll b on road going further north

busby hotel £39 in the southside ,nice area 10 mins train from city.

I am also looking for a cheap but passable hotel in Glasgow (I need city centre).

Not trying to hijack thread, but thought it might help op as well. I've come across the NEwton Hotel in the city centre. It's small but seems very nicely done up. £35 a night as well, so very tempted.

Anyone local have much knowledge of the Newton Hotel or even heard of it? Is it in an OK area?
