Cheap Courier/Delivery firms

Hi All - I would like to sell off a few of my larger items either here or on ebay, but don't know any decent delivery firms. I usually end up using Royal Mail's parcel Force which is quite pricey!

A few of the things aren't worth that much, so charging £12 P&P would put people off, the the cheaper the better really.

Wasn't there a firm that would send out anything under 30 odd kg for a fiver? They would use DHL lorries too?

  1. Misc
  2. Courier

I use interparcel- go through Quidco for 5% cashback, and once you've registed you get 5% discount on further bookings. It'll compare prices with a few different companies, hopefully you'll find something decent
Edit: Don't think it'll be as cheap as you asked though.. 30kg for a fiver seems very cheap

Payperdrop stopped using DHL for their standard service, they were the cheapest if I remember correctly @ £5.99

They're supposed to be back with 'better' deals but their website isn't finished yet

Edit: You can't even get on the site anymore lol maybe they gave up ?

Also.. try p4d.co.uk/ They offer 48 hour collect/deliver for £6.99 + VAT through DHL

Cheers guys - I think it was paperdrop that I heard of, but the I had somehow lowered the cost in my own mind!

I should really do a car boot, but am not really a morning person and am too easily persuaded to let things go for a steal!

I used this company 3 times over the christmas period & they were great. Their DHL 48 hour stuff got to Devon & Cornwall in less than a day.

If you register on their website you get an additional 5% discount. Even let you pay with PayPal.

Forgot to mention the Discount, nice one Ayrshirebacon.

Also they have a special thing at the top of the site if you use eBay to sell, makes the whole process easier apparently but i have not used that function yet.

do these curriers pick up or do you have to drop stuff off at there centre

It states:

Driver brings the Waybill with them

Which would suggest, he brings the paperwork with him, collects it sticks on the label and off it goes

Yup, that's how it worked for me.

I did one via ParcelForce, where you could narrow your pickup time slightly.
Think it was £12.91 for 24hour with £100 insurance.
The tracking on this was Ok - it would show you WHEN something happened to the parcel, but not WHERE it was at the time.

Two parcels via DHL too. Tracking was better, although had to go to DHL site to view.
Think it was £10.50 for 48hour with £100 insurance. Delivered within 24 hours though.
Much better tracking as well, with dates/times & a location at each step.
